Create Your Women of a New Sisterhood Audio Presentation

Hello!
I would like to invite you to create an audio presentation for Women of a New Sisterhood.  I understand we are all busy women, so I created a simple way to share your story on the webinars.  Here’s a way for you to pre-record your message on your own schedule.  Listed below are the details on how to create the audio campaign and the materials needed.  We look forward to showcasing your service, company or your book within the next 30-60 days!  Read this entire page to answer most of your questions.  It’s long, but I want you to have all of the information to make the process seamless.

YOUR INFORMATION WILL GO HERE:

Women of a New Sisterhood Online Conference
Website: bit.ly/1UQJ9gY

1.  Select a topic that’s important to you and prepare a speech for our audience. Create your webinar in the TED TALK fashion of presentation. Introduce yourself, give the title of your session.  Next, explain  what we will learn today. Give a 1-minute intro into how you can serve the Women of a New Sisterhood community and what your company/book/wisdom offers the audience.

Next move into your planned speech. Imagine them right before you!  Ask them questions. Give them a call to action.  Pull them into this ‘conversation’ and really show them how much you care about their success.  Practice or plan what you want to say before recording.

2.  Please do not make multiple recordings. If you make a mistake simply stop the recording by pressing the (#) pound key. You can re-record as many times as you like, just don’t hang up to stop recording. Multiple recordings will slow down the entire process for ALL of the other speakers.  You can record up to 55 minutes!  Do not go over.

Try to keep it entertaining and informative. The first 10 minutes are crucial to holding the online listener’s attention for the entire session. This email breaks down the process of recording to the finest detail. I will need your recording back within 5 days.

3. At the end of your presentation, share your websites, blogs and all your social media info.  Let the audience be sold on your expertise.  Do not mention a time sensitive offer or discount because this recording will be re-purposed several times over the next few months. If you make an offer, it has to be something that is available months from now.

4.  Please do not mention any dates, times or any events.   If you mention dates or events it limits what I can do with the recordings. It limits your presentation’s visibility on future programs.  You can gently promote your service, charity, book, product or signature program at the end.  If you have any books, please submit the bookseller details. Submit your confirmation and promotional material as soon as possible.

Speakers call into the recording center and record your message!
Call this number to record  (201) 283-9143   PIN: 158-535-351#
To record message, select option (1) when prompted.
Press the (# Key) to STOP the recording when you are finished talking and reading.

DO NOT MAKE MULTIPLE RECORDINGS.  FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS!

Hit the (# key) to STOP the recording and re-record. You can keep re-recording the same session over and over until it’s correct.  Do NOT hang up to start over.  If you need a do-over, immediate press the (# key).

“In Nandi’s Unexpected Gift, Ama Kuma creates a character and a community full of Black love and Black beauty where children not only thrive to be their very best, but also see their beauty reflected in their culture and the nurturing of mamas, grandmas, teachers and friends, especially in the face of life lessons that yield the greatest gift of all: Love.  All children will see themselves in Nandi and her struggle.  At time when representation of Black children in American publishing is lacking, Ama Kuma gifts us Nandi’s Unexpected Gift, a story that is, in the words of Alice Walker, a ‘temple of our familiar.'”
-Tony Medina, Poet, Children’s Book Author, Professor of Creative Writing at Howard University

“As a mother to a young girl, I look for diversity in the books I choose for her to read.  Ama’s story Nandi’s Unexpected Gift not only celebrates the beauty of our young brown girls, she captures the sense of family, and our values as well.  Nandi’s Unexpected Gift is a story for young and older audiences.  I was able to share and enjoy this story with my daughter along with the beauty of seeing a young girl who mirrored her reflection.  This is a timeless story, by a truly extraordinary author.  I can’t wait for the next story in Nandi’s journey.”
-Elle Henry, Managing Editor/Owner, Tres Chic Edits

“There is a certain urgency to the life of a young African American girl discovering what makes her unique in a world that seems to demand that everyone fit some standard that is based on how we look or what we wear.  It is a journey shared by many youth, one often too mysterious and difficult to understand.  But here, in Nandi’s Unexpected Gift, author Ama Kuma creates an intimate space for discovery through a familiar experience rendered anew through the life of Nandi, one super smart and adventurous young African American girl.  Nandi is delightfully engaging as she counts raindrops during thunderstorms, climbs trees, makes up lyrics to the jazz her grandmother plays at home, and basks in the love of her family. Set in the lush landscape of Polk County, Florida, this story illuminates an important rite of passage in Nandi’s life as her tenth birthday approaches.  There are unexpected challenges for her to face, even in the magical realm of her dreams.  Avery-Liell-Kok’s illustrations reflect the vibrant lives of the characters revealed so lovingly by Ama Kuma’s writing.  And the book is certainly a crucial affirmation of the spectacular lives of African American girls.  It centers, lifts, and celebrates them.  It is one of those children’s books that will be remembered for years to come; the kind that you hold onto far into your adult years.  It is a book you pass to others, knowing they will find themselves in the pages and hold onto what’s discovered there.  It is a treasure of a book, an absolute gift of a story.”
-Nina Angela Mercer, Playwright/Interdisciplinary

Nandi’s Unexpected Gift  gives its readers a gift: a story that brings to life intriguing and thoroughly human characters whose time together captures a slice of their lives and finds joy and wonder in the ordinary elements that make up their days.  The adept way in which the story entwines the characters’ conversations and the accounts of their actions makes this story one that will draw in readers and convince them to turn the pages to find out what happens next.”

Book Excerpt: Nandi’s Unexpected Gift

When her mother finally pulled up in the driveway, Nandi jumped to her feet and sprinted to retrieve the carefully crafted list from under her pillow.  Before her mother even made it to the front door, Nandi was already at the entrance, jumping up and down, flailing her arms about, and yelling, “Mama, Mama, I finished my birthday list!”

Her mother sighed as she rubbed Nandi’s cheek and replied, “That’s wonderful, baby doll, but give me a chance to get settled for a minute before I take a look at what you got, okay?  Today was a long day at work, and I just need some peace and quiet.  Also, I need you to grab another umbrella and help me get the rest of the groceries out of the back seat.”

Reluctantly, Nandi put her list down and ran back to her room to get an umbrella.  She didn’t realize all the noise she’d been making had woken her grandmother from her slumber.

“Hey, now, Di-Di, what have I told you ‘bout runnin’ in the house?” her grandmother said.  “Child, one day you gonna fly into a wall like a lost bird or knock over a lamp.”

“Sorry, Grandmama Janie,” Nandi replied respectfully. “I’m just excited to show Mama my birthday list.  I finished it up last night.”

“That’s fine and dandy honey, but you still can’t go around runnin’ like a wild boar.  You almost scared your poor Grandmama to death.  I ain’t no spring chicken no more,” she said with a heavy sigh. “Now let me take a look at this list that’s got you actin’ all crazy.”

Charge of an Angel by Linda Diane Wattley

LOVE AND REDEMPTION SERIES – The truth will set you free beginning with “Charge of an Angel.”  Because you are silent does not mean the world does not hear you screaming.  “Charge of an Angel” the first book of the “Love and Redemption Series” is about getting to understand God, love, sex and spirituality. Children grow up eventually and we they pack their clothes to leave home; the world has no clue what they are carrying in their suitcases.

Charge of an Angel  (Love and Redemption Series Book 1) by Linda Diane Wattley

My name is Leona Tillard and I need your help. You see, I have been spending my whole life trying to know who I am. I was born and raised in Akron, Ohio, and a product of a temporary single-parent home, I was left without some pertinent information that could have possibly told me who I am. Eventually, still a child, my family structure evolved into a blended family situation. In silence, I cried far more than I laughed.

Don’t get me wrong, there was much love for me. I learned early in life that I was a very special little girl. People loved being in my presence, but more than anything, my body was always desired. I didn’t want for anything, life was good to me, I just didn’t understand love and what is considered being a normal human being. This is where I need your help. Will you listen to me as I tell you my story about my life? Tell me who really loved me. Am I really an angel or a freak of nature? Your help will be highly appreciated. In return, I promise to entertain you from beginning to end. Below find one of my thought processing moments. It came during a time I needed understanding. Until we meet, enjoy!

My body was betraying me in the worst way. “Oh, God, help me! I face you now in my naked and weakened state and beg you to save me.” I prayed silently.”

Customer Review
5.0 out of 5 stars By Cold Coffee

Charge Of An Angel is book one in Linda Diane Wattley’s series titled Love and Redemption.

This is an important quote directly from the book: “Charge of an Angel will reveal why the urgent questioning of sexuality from the home to the pulpit. The children in this story have a lot to show us, let’s get started. They are anxious to share their stories even their parents are going to be in awe when they see who they really are.”

Character Leona Tillard will touch your heart as you read her childhood account. I am certain that as you read this book, you will either relate to some of the family dynamics from your own life or you might know a family with similar dynamics.  Sadly, families usually look wholesome and intact when viewed by an outsider. However, when you pull back the layers like an onion, the raw truth can burn your soul. In Leona’s story, her family has many layers and although she felt loved as child, her perceptions were from a child’s point of view.

Right from birth (like you and me) Leona was set on a path and her encounters wrote on the pages of her life’s story and deep in her heart and soul. The most telling thing that you will discover as you read, is Leona’s perception of herself, her deep questions and even conflicting messages that cause her to even question God. For children who grown up in a dysfunctional home, this is how they think. I quote not to spoil the story, but to enlighten you so you will want to read further.

“We didn’t hear any more words after that. Sarah and I were just as quiet as Daddy and Priscilla. In fact, Sarah was already asleep. I could hear snoring from across the room, which was something she normally didn’t do. I couldn’t believe what I had seen between her and Daddy. I closed my eyes and tried to will myself somewhere other than where I was. I couldn’t help but wonder where my brother and my mother were. This new family thing just did not make me happy at all. I mean, trying to know myself was hard enough without this family mix. One minute I had a mother and then I had no mother. I had a big brother, then no big brother. Now I have two sisters and a brother to go with the one I already had. We were all lost and confused. We just wanted to know where we belonged.

After that night, we did what we had to do to keep Priscilla and Daddy happy. Nobody cared how we felt. This life was about them. None of us should have been born. We had no parents. All of us were victims of circumstance. We were just sheep—sleeping, eating, and doing what we were told. If Daddy and Priscilla hadn’t gotten married, maybe Momma and Mark might have come back. We could forget about ever seeing them now.”

While reading I was faced with the core truths written on the pages and maybe more importantly between the lines. I wait for Book Two to be published, as I will need to find out where it goes from here. I invite you to read and open your heart and eyes to children around you in your life. This book has adult content.

Black Cotton by Tomeekha Pitre

BLACK COTTON is a photography art book that celebrates the beauty of African American Women, the Afro hair style and the diversity of  African Decent individuals.  We do this through fashion, hair, makeup, digital media and Photography.

BLACK COTTON brilliantly marries these strengths and presents a new definition of the African Woman while telling the photographic journey of the African presence in other cultures.  “Have you ever wondered what it is about the Afro hairstyle that makes people stop, look, and stare?

To some, It may remind them of a time period, to others it may be simple admiration, a reminder of their inhibitions, or the proof within self that they can be free to rock the most powerful hairstyle that represents the FREEDOM of self expression.

Beyond the stylistic glamour of the Afro, the hairstyle is full of history; from styling combs, spiritual association, the unforgettable Black Pride era, to the African presence in Asian culture.”

BLACK COTTON re-identifies the pride and dignity of our African American women here and abroad. We are sure you will feel the same.
